My,what a large organ you have. Actually, they're all that big.

In the church of St.-Etienne, Pascal is buried (somewhere).
Buildings like this are all over Paris. Who says that public architecture has to be ugly? I mean, besides the GSA of course.
Paris' Pantheon. Costs 12E to go in, so I skipped it.

The Luxembourg Gardins, a beautiful and huge garden in the middle of Paris. Beautifully planted this mid-September day.

The palace that anchors the gardens.

Maybe it's the air; maybe it was the food. But I thought that this statue of a lion over an ostrich was particularly good. He has such a wonderful expression on his face. (The lion, silly, not the ostrich. The ostrich is dead.)
The model for the Statue of Liberty sits in the Luxembourg Gardens.
Next to the Statue of Liberty model is an american oak, which you can barely see being supported by the sticks, planted in memory of Sept. 11, 2001 victims. The flowers are there from a ceremony a few days before (this picture was taken Sept 14, 2006).

St.-Suplice.
The nave of St. Sulpice, made famous in the Da Vinci Code.
St. Suplice's famous obelisk, wiht the line that runs to the top and across the church floor. The plaque on the right explains that the novel's description is largely fictional and this is a piece of solar observing equipment placed in the church. The sun follows the line, and hits the ball at solstice.
Having enough of churches, I duck into the metro and emerge at the bottom of the Champs Elysses.
Ahhh, that view up the wide avenue to the Arc de Triomphe. Only one place in the world you see that, right?
Mid-September and you can see that the tourists are still going heavy and thick on the Champs Elysses.
My last sight before leaving Paris and heading back to the airport.

In the distance, the monument in Piazza Venezia. Climb to the top, get the gold ring.

Proof that I was there. Or that I can use Photoshop. You decide.
