People love to shop for the best price. Who can blame them? No one wants to waste money. At Opus One, our fees are set very differently from other Internet service providers. (If you were looking for consulting fees, you're in the wrong part of our site; click here.) Our goal is to provide the best service possible to our clients. This means that we are probably not going to be the cheapest service provider in town. It also means something very simple: we do not sacrifice service to save money. If your "bottom line" includes quality and results, then we invite you to contact us for more information. This page contains summary pricing for our general services and assumes a minimum 1 year commitment. If you need additional information, you can jump to the specific product descriptions or feel free to call, write, FAX, or email us. Please note that all Opus One services are provided based on our Acceptable Use Policy and standard contract which sets out the terms and conditions of our service.
Basic Business ServiceOur Your Business Service(tm) includes:
For a full description, read the Your Business Service web page. Additional services, including additional disk space and special web-related services, are also detailed on those web pages.
Note 1: An additional User is a separate user who dials in using Opus One modems. An additional mailbox can also be a separate user, but this user cannot dial in to Opus One modems. If you have a dedicated connection to the Internet or remote users, additional mailboxes may be all that you need. Note 2: Additional domain names are available for a one-time charge of $100. This includes the application, primary and secondary name service for as long as you are a client, and mail redirection on our servers. Any changes to the domain after it has been installed are done on a time-and-materials basis. Optionally, you may select a $10/month fee, with no installation or change charges. Any service fees charged by the InterNIC or any other NIC which may be appropriate to the domain name you choose are in addition to this cost. Note 3: Private WWW service includes additional disk space and other services. Please see the section below for more details. Note 4: Dedicated PPP service includes all equipment and phone lines at our end. You are responsible for supplying equipment (such as analog modems or ISDN NT1s or DSL gear), phone line, and any routing equipment at your end. Dedicated services do not automatically include static IP addresses, but these are available. Of course, we can rent you any of these if you need them. Note 6: Multiple WWW servers are a complex issue. See our discussion below on "WWW Services" for more information. Note 7: Please call for rates.
DSL ServicesOpus One's DSL services are described more fully elsewhere. The following table summarizes our basic DSL services. "Hobbyist"-class services start at the 256K service (which actually has download speeds up to 640K, and upload speeds of 272K) without bandwidth guarantees; "Business"-class services have the same thruput but with guaranteed bandwidth and a higher level of service, including proactive monitoring, dial backup, and additional technical support options.
Note 1: Low-end hobbyist services are only offered in conjunction with the Opus One Your Business service. Opus One is not in the business of providing residential users with basic DSL connections. Note 2: Business DSL services include (a) bandwidth guarantee to ensure smooth traffic, (b) proactive monitoring and dial backup service if desired, and (c) priority technical support and loaner spares service.
Many DSL users want static IP addresses for small servers located on
their home or business LAN. Opus One is able to provide static IP
addresses where needed.
Dedicated Connection ServiceIf you want to be connected 24 hours a day, then you want one of our dedicated connection services. These start small, with 33.6K modems, and go all the way up to T1-based services. The basic dedicated connection service includes a guaranteed connection to our Internet backbone via either analog or ISDN connection. All of our lines are ISDN, so you can use analog (V.90 or 33.6K modem) or ISDN equipment on a call-by-call basis. Most dedicated connection customers also want static IP addresses. You don't have to have one, but if you do want one, it's an additional $10/month for a single IP address, and $10/month beyond that for each block of 32 addresses. Note that although we have plenty of addresses available, you must be prepared to justify the block of addresses which we have assigned to you by demonstrating that there are real pingable hosts out there. This is because we have to justify our allocation to the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) based on real usage. If you want to jump from 64K service to 128K service (ISDN) or dual analog channels, you can add an extra channel for $80/month. For services beyond 128K, please contact us so that we can help evaluate your needs and recommend the best solution.
